I have to admit when I first opened this book I was a little disappointed. The illustrations were beautiful, but it seemed to lack a bit of the zip that Chris Haughton’s other books have. However, when I first read it to little Alexander I discovered it’s brilliance. It’s about a little bear that doesn’t want to go to sleep. He meets other animals who are falling asleep and yawning as they do. With all the yawning Alexander has yet to hear the end of the book. He’s always asleep a few pages in. So if you’re looking for a bedtimes story to help your kids fall asleep, this is it.
